Lake Enforcement

These Cabarrus areas are maintained and protected by WSACC and Lake Enforcement: 

  • 1,300 acres of reservoir area
  • more than 47 square miles of drainage basin
  • 24 miles of shoreline

WSACC is the Water and Sewer Authority of Cabarrus County.

Lake Enforcement officers monitor the following areas of the lakes in Cabarrus County:

  •  waters
  • shoreline
  • drainage areas 

These areas are monitored for situations directly impacting the Cabarrus water supply. These situations can include chemical spills, land erosion, etc. 

Lake Enforcement also enforces:

  • illegal hunting and fishing reports
  • trespassing
  • illegal dumping
  • other crimes

The primary reservoir in Cabarrus is Lake Don T. Howell on the western side of the County. Concord Lake and the Mt. Pleasant Reservoir are also supervised by Lake Enforcement.
