 Vice/Narcotics Unit

The Vice/Narcotics Unit is responsible for collecting, archiving and disseminating narcotics-related intelligence. This intelligence leads to successful investigations and prosecutions.

The goal is to reduce criminal drug activity. Investigating and combating the importation of illegal substances into Cabarrus County is important. The result enhances quality of life for citizens in our community.

Gang Unit

The Gang Unit's mission is to improve the quality of life in the community. They accomplished this mission by:

• identifying local street gangs, their memberships and associates
• developing methods to lessen their impact on the community

Formed in 2005, the unit uses various gang interdiction strategies, including:

• preliminary and follow-up investigation
• proactive and preventative information gathering
• education
