The Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office
has two wings that contain 23 cell blocks. These cell blocks
have a total of 142 beds to house prisoners within this county.
We are in the process of a population study to determine if
the facility will need additional cell space. In the center
of this jail facility is the main control center and administrative
offices.
Our main duty is maintaining custody and
control of inmates. We also provide for the inmates daily
needs, a few examples are: feeding laundry, assisting the
medical staff, hygiene, canteen, visitation, and recreation.
Deputies also process inmates in and out of the facility and
transport inmates to the Department of corrections. These
are only a few examples of our daily tasks.
