The Crime Scene Investigations
Division responds to the scene of crimes committed in Cabarrus
County and processes that crime scene for any evidence that
may lead to the identification, apprehension, and prosecution
of those responsible for committing the crime.
This is accomplished by
first documenting the crime scene through the use of photography
and measurements. Crime Scene investigators then process the
crime scene for fingerprints, foot or shoe impressions, collection
of body fluids or body hair, clothing fibers, and other such
evidence that may be valuable in the investigation of the
crime. Any evidence collected is then packaged in an appropriate
container, marked for identification, and then logged and
stored in the evidence room at the Cabarrus County Sheriff's
Office.
