Donate a Cell Phone Program:
Do you have a used wireless cell phone
you are no longer using? If so, why not donate it to the sheriff's
office.
The sheriff's office collects these
working (but not active) cell phones and deliverers them to
the local domestic shelter (Cabarrus Victims Assistance Network
- CVAN). These phones are then given to victims of domestic
violence to be use in a case of emergency.
Even though these cell phone are not
activated they can still be used to dial 911 in an emergency.
If you have a used cell phone that is just collecting dust,
you can put it to good use and help victims of domestic violence
at the same time by simply coming by the sheriff's office
and donate your phone.
